Research

My research focuses on human-information interaction, including task-based approaches to interactive information retrieval, including a focus on searching as learning, digital document genres, and online reading.  Recent areas of interest include scholarly communication and knowledge exchange, open data and the design of open data portals and misinformation and fact-checking.
